Fright of fear moving all around in Mumbai has made up the minds of the Central Railway (CR) to upgrade its security kits and will thus install advanced Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD) at important stations. The Multi-Zone DFMD detectors, can identify and locate metal objects on a human body.

The Multi-Zone DFMD, helps to see the metal and to locate its position on a human body through an image on an LCD screen, which is part of the security kit. These detectors are a great help for the police in busy stations and terminus, reducing their work load and is also a comfort for the regular and innocent commuters.

These DMFD technology will scan the human body in four parts-legs, abs, chest and head. When a person walks through the detector,MFD will not only beep if it identifies a metal object, but will also show the location of the metal.
If the remodelling of the yard by the Central Railway is completed within the next three months then the suburban trains passing by Thane station can move at double their existing speed.

According to the Central Railways plan to remodel the Thane yard, the diamond-shaped crossings will be removed and replaced with gentler turns which will improve the speed of the train at these crossings.

Tracks at kalyan will first be completed and then the tracks at CST will be worked upon to avoid rail traffic.

These changes will help CR save at least one minute per train hoping to pump in some extra services on this busy route.
